RESPONSIBILITIES
  •  Support the Nat Cat Center of Excellence by sharing modeling expertise, research, training, collaboration, and market intelligence across global group companies.
  •  Research, develop, and build internal catastrophe models and solutions to support holding company initiatives.
  •  Conduct catastrophe model validation by creating benchmarks to evaluate hazard and vulnerability components, overall performance, and vendor model validation.
  •  Support ERM by reviewing capital modeling assumptions, defining custom views of risk, estimating Probable Maximum Losses for under-modeled region-perils, and assisting with live event response and climate change physical risk assessments.
QUALIFICATIONS
  •  Relevant professional experience in catastrophe modeling (covering perils such as flood or earthquake) with solid educational training.
  •  Strong technical proficiency in programming (Python or related languages), GIS, Excel, SQL, and AI/ML.
  •  Working knowledge of the property & casualty (P&C) reinsurance/insurance industry, applying modeling to risk management and underwriting.
