RESPONSIBILITIES
  • · Work on complex challenges involving natural catastrophe modeling and statistical analysis.
  • · Apply expertise in atmospheric science and large datasets to support a wide range of internal and client-facing projects.
  • · atmospheric datasets from global and national sources.
  • · Build and validate stochastic precipitation models to support catastrophe risk assessment.
  • · Partner with hydrologists and hydraulic engineers to ensure accurate flood-event modeling.
  • · Support the creation of simulated and near-real-time, high-resolution flood scenarios.
  • · Write and maintain code to process complex numerical and geospatial datasets.
  • · Produce clear documentation explaining modeling methodologies, assumptions, and reasoning.
  • · Present analytical findings and model outputs to colleagues and clients with varied technical backgrounds.
  • · Use the software platform and interpret outputs for both internal research and client applications.
QUALIFICATIONS
  • · M.S. or PhD degree .
  • · Proficiency in programming languages such as R, FORTRAN, BASH scripting, Python, and/or C++.
  • · Thorough understanding of probability and statistics.
