RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Build sustainable solutions for our customers using machine learning techniques and other analytical methods.
  • Participate in the development and deployment of strategic tools to continually move the business forward.
  • Present model results to the team as well as business partners across the organization.
  • Perform cost-benefit analyses to determine the value of a project and assist in estimating the return on investment of deployed analytical solutions.
  • Assist in identifying new data sources to pursue and assist with quantifying the potential value of those data sources.
  • Partner with data engineers to build model training datasets; partner with team members to operationalize data science assets.
  • Remain current on industry trends, tools, and techniques.
  • Be a thought partner; assist in driving or supporting the business problem solving process.
QUALIFICATIONS
  • Bachelor’s degree in a STEM field required; Master’s or Ph.D. STEM preferred.
  • 2-5 years of experience in a Data Science or R&D group in an Insurance or Financial Services company.
  • Strong knowledge of Python and/or R; strong knowledge of SQL.
  • Hands-on experience with version control systems such as git.
  • Experience with both supervised (e.g., GLM, RF, GBM, XGBoost) and unsupervised learning methods.
  • Ability to work with data engineers and ML ops engineers to operationalize data science assets.
  • Ability to create analytical web applications via R Shiny or Dash is a plus.
  • Experience building end-to-end solutions is a plus.
  • Familiarity with the Azure cloud computing suite of products is a plus.
