RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Using streamlined processes developed in collaboration with the team, report key balances on the economic balance sheet required for the company’s global Solvency II capital reporting requirements
  • Analyze economic business performance of the largest mortality reinsurance inforce block =using existing forecasting technology including Prophet and SQL. Push the team beyond reporting into true business value adding analysis into the key underlying drivers of business performance.
  • Serve as an ambassador for the department across the organization, providing insight and value derived from a detailed understanding of our models and the underlying business
  • Ability to translate complex business challenges into well defined, actionable problems and in collaboration with the model development team and other key stakeholders develop pragmatic solutions
  • Bring a mindset of challenging the status quo, driven by a curious mind and an eagerness to dig in and truly understand a problem and recommend solutions
  • Ability to balance the need for continuous improvement with the rigor and controls required of a valuation function responsible for producing key inputs to the financial statements
  • May perform other duties as assigned
QUALIFICATIONS
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Actuarial Science, Mathematics, Statistics, Economics, or related field with demonstrated record of academic excellence
  • ASA/near ASA designation
  • 3+ years’ experience with financial valuation, modeling, cash flow analysis or similar experience
  • Experience managing projects and effectively representing department at various meetings
  • Demonstrated ability to understand broader picture and impact of decisions
  • Proven leadership skills and ability to make strategic decisions
  • Identify and communicate data quality issues in client-provided inforce extracts and reserving information
  • Ability to build & maintain relationships with colleagues
  • Demonstrated ability to understand complex models and perform valuation and analysis to deliver required results
  • Demonstrated ability to identify and implement departmental processes and controls and ensure appropriately documented
  • Technically astute within the actuarial discipline and industry software applications. Experience with Prophet is a plus.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills, including verbal, written and relationship building
  • Rapid and consistent increase in responsibilities in an organization preferred
  • Experience with reporting, data mining & statistical analysis tools like R, Python, SQL preferred
  • Experience with Agile/SCRUM, preferred
