  • Ability to review requirements and provide essential details for internal and external inquires and ad hoc requests as directed by manager.
  • Demonstrates thorough understanding of actuarial data and related systems through analysis of claims and related fields. Identifies data inefficiencies and implements resolutions as directed.
  • Gathers actuarial data and information to complete analysis as directed; solicits feedback on improvements to reporting and communications.
  • Assists with collecting data and responding to inquiries from the business contacts.
  • Effectively support requests timely, ensuring with manager that requests are aligned with responsibilities.
  • Communicates effectively with internal and/or external parties.
  • Actively manages self-development. Participates in cross-training and knowledge. information sharing within team to accomplish goals.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Mathematics, Actuarial Science, or related field and a minimum of 2-4 exams completed.
  • Must be pursuing CAS actuarial designation.
  • 2 years of progressive responsibilities and related experience in an actuarial role.
  • Has intermediate level of understanding actuarial concepts, insurance product and industry knowledge.
  • Advanced proficiency in MS Office Applications including Excel, PowerPoint, and Word.
  • Advanced proficiency in computer programming (including VBA) and data repository platforms (SAS/SQL/etc.).
  • Has advanced level of understanding of actuarial concepts, insurance products, and finance.
  • Expert proficiency in computer programming, data repository platforms (SAS/SQL/etc.), and Excel (including VBA).
  • Exhibits advanced skills in completing standard to moderate, defined tasks & projects.
  • Addresses conflict on a timely basis, avoiding issues to prolong and affect working relationships or goals. Discusses resolution alternatives with manager prior to engagement.
  • Can actively listen and effectively explain specific variances to a technical and non-technical audience.
  • Strong communication skills, both written and oral.
