RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Detailed analysis of the data quality issues in one or more functional areas
  • Understanding root cause of the data quality issue, its impact to the business and drive its resolution
  • Coordinate with stakeholders in the business within each functional area and their counters parts in IT and provide recommendations for a potential resolution of the issues being researched.
  • Support project management on ongoing status updates of the Data Quality issues being worked on
  • Analyze data for the said issues across multiple data hops from policy administration systems to intermediate transformation layers, calculation engines, financial systems and data marts
QUALIFICATIONS
  • Bachelor’s degree in Business or Computer Science
  • 5 or more years of relevant professional experience; financial services or insurance experience “plus”
  • 5 or more years’ experience with data analysis and/or business analysis of data across multiple platforms, applications and databases
  • Ability to query data across Microsoft SQL databases using SQL queries to aid with the data analysis is a required skill
  • Knowledge of systems and applications including the integration flow in the insurance sector across one or more of Finance Systems, Ceded Re platforms, Reserving / Actuarial systems is a “plus”
  • Advanced Microsoft Excel skills to aid with the data analysis and problem solving is strongly desired.
  • Knowledge of data integrations and ability to understand the data transformation that takes place in each data hop or integration layer
  • Ability to modify existing programs, interfaces and data bridges based on specifications, test and deploy them across environments
  • Knowledge of fixing and improving existing software
  • Demonstrated analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Knowledge of the IT Project Lifecycle, especially with regards to analysis, problem resolution, testing & production deployment
  • Ability to communicate effectively and efficiently on a regular basis especially with senior business stakeholders is important
  • Strong communication skills, being a good team player, interpersonal skills, detail oriented and organizational skills are required
  • Ability to adapt quickly to new environments, and a fast learner
