Asset Management Group
  • Manage the Company’s group of investment funds, including their operations, governance, and financial reporting to both internal and external stakeholders
  • Oversee the valuation of reinsurance instrument, insurance-linked instruments and debt and equity transactions
  • Serve as internal Director to the Company’s group of investment funds
  • Oversee key service provider relationships and manage key operational functions of the Company’s funds, including audit, valuation, legal, custody, FX and banking
  • Develop and maintain strong working relationships with new and existing investors, oversee all investor due diligence activities, contribute to the growth of the overall asset platform
  • Manage and execute negotiations for investor side letters and new/client fund mandates
  • Advise portfolio managers on fund structure related investment concerns
  • Assist with evaluating debt and equity opportunities, considering structuring, economic evaluation, ongoing valuation, compliance and execution
  • Prepare and review internal and external reporting as well as portfolio and performance analyses, investor and compliance reporting
  • Participate in making investment decisions on an individual deal basis and contributing to the overall investment strategy & risk management of the platform
  • A recognized actuarial designation coupled with a minimum of 10+ years’ post qualification experience, 8 of which must have been obtained within the ILS or Reinsurance industry
  • Detailed working knowledge of US GAAP and IFRS for investment companies, as well as knowledge of Bermuda statutory and regulatory requirements for a Class 3 and Class 3a reinsurance company
  • Detailed knowledge of the US regulatory environment for an SEC registered Investment Advisor as well as experience with the valuation and accounting derivatives
  • Detailed working knowledge of the Investment Funds/ILS industry
  • Proven track record of managing and developing key client relationships
  • Experience in people management and team development
  • Experience reviewing, accounting for and valuing reinsurance contracts for investment companies
  • Strong Microsoft Excel skills
  • A working knowledge of Calypso is an asset
  • A self-starter with proven track record of career progression and meeting tight deadlines in a fast-paced environment
