  • Organizes client data, checks data for reasonability, loads data into predictive models, runs the models and shares output with senior colleagues to help determine client's degree of risk
  • Performs basic calculations with client data to assess a range of risk exposures and predict outcomes for clients in support of reinsurance transaction process
  • Collects and analyzes industry data and updates the trending process in the predictive models to support advisory work
  • Conducts research on industry/regulatory developments that affect loss liabilities to determine the impact on clients
  • Keeps teams updated on industry-specific and specialty related trends that may affect reinsurance programs/calculations
  • Develops knowledge in certain region-based or peril-based areas of catastrophe risk management services through research or experience in order to advance professionally and gain recognition as an expert in the industry
  • Reviews complex analyses completed by project team members involving catastrophe risk models and evaluates the resulting data sets in order to calculate the client’s risk exposure
  • Bachelor’s Degree in data science, computer science or related quantitative field such as applied mathematics, statistics, engineering, operations research, finance, or economics.
  • Strong academic record in major and work experience
  • Bilingual: Spanish and English

  • Good computer skills using Microsoft SQL, Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint)
  • 2 to 3 years of experience in a technical related role at a reinsurance broker, market, or catastrophe model software vendor
  • Prior experience in relevant insurance / reinsurance field
  • Scientific background in meteorology and/or earthquake
  • An understanding of the reinsurance industry and product lines
  • Technical expertise working with AIR and RMS catastrophe models
