RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Facilitate conversations with stakeholders, conducting user research, assessing opportunities and generating buy-in for data initiatives
  • Champion data literacy within the organization and drive adoption rates while bridging gaps between departments
  • See what's possible and what will soon be possible by taking full advantage of the current and future flow of data within the organization
  • Analyze product features to synthesize a plan for how to use data generated by the product to improve the product
  • Evaluate trade-offs around infrastructure needs, real-time vs. offline model scoring, model retraining timeliness, use of machine learning, data freshness, methods to evaluate success over time, complexity cost of implementing features / developing products, and other key data product decisions
  • Bridge the gap between the collection of data and the use of data by driving the construction and prioritization of a data enablement roadmap
  • Be an active consumer of the data and metrics we create and ensure that they align with the business model and organizational strategy
  • Translate requirements between data scientists, engineers, designers, marketers, and other PMs
  • Build product instrumentation and data storage into acceptance criteria
  • Collaborate with data scientists, Actuaries and analysts to ensure that data will be accessible and usable for analysis and modeling as soon as possible
  • Work closely with engineering teams to deliver with quick time-to-market and optimal bandwidth
  • Scope and prioritize activities based on business and customer impact
QUALIFICATIONS
  • 8+ years of experience in a Technical Product Management role, preferably for an Insurance business focused in the data space
  • Knowledge of data pipeline design, with an understanding of integration and data transformation standard methodologies
  • Hands on Experience with Azure DevOps, Microsoft Project or other project management tools
  • Significant hands-on experience and proficiency with modern (Snowflake, Hadoop, Spark, etc.) and traditional database technologies (SQL Server , Oracle, etc.) and data related programming languages (SQL & Python)
  • Familiarity with Amazon Athena and Sagemaker is a plus
  • Familiarity with Data Vault , and AWS Lake Formation is a plus
  • Familiarity with web analytics and marketing optimization preferred; previous experience with instrumentation and A/B testing a plus
  • Strong prioritization and project management skills, including timely and proactive communications of timelines, status, issue escalation
  • Deep analytical abilities, strong out-of-the-box thinking, curious business and technical attitude, and an ability to drive action
  • Leadership skills to influence partners and see projects through to timely completion in an agile environment
  • Experience with ETL and ELT tools such as Attunity Compose,
  • Knowledge of insurance domain is preferred
  • Background in Product Management, software engineering, data systems and/or data management.
  • Azure, Amazon AWS, and related cloud data service.
  • Exposure to Data Science, BI and Analytics systems.
  • Knowledge of Colibra, Alation or other Data Governance platforms.
  • Engaging and concise speaking and presentation abilities.
  • Experience and certification are desirable.
  • Present or prior experience working with data or big data technology projects.
