RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Design model investment portfolios; be creative in building a solution by exploring synthetic instruments, if required
  • Design solutions to mitigate market risk during the reposition phase by looking at, among other things, warehousing of target assets and/or hedging solutions, if required
  • Liaise with the Pension risk transfer, and other cross functional internal teams, as well as external managers to build the pipes needed to support the onboarding of third-party pension assets
  • Provide investment related inputs for pricing, and other information required during the bidding process
  • Coordinate with external managers during the bidding phase, if required
  • Work with the Pension risk transfer team and external managers to on board assets
  • Implement the reposition, manage and monitor the portfolio(s) on an ongoing basis
  • Provide support in designing and implementing a strategic asset allocation
  • Liaise with internal cross functional teams to vet new investments
  • Project manage process from ideation to implementation
  • Create and maintain documentation
  • Provide ad-hoc support on investment related projects and requests
QUALIFICATIONS
  • Bachelor’s degree in mathematics, economics, investments or related field.
  • 10+ years of investment-related experience with a minimum of 3 years’ experience working on Pension risk transfer transactions, ideally in an insurance company
  • Knowledge of capital markets, fixed income asset classes, alternatives and pension liabilities
  • Experience with the operational & implementation aspects of a Pension risk transfer transaction, preferably from an insurance company perspective
  • Demonstrated strong skills in designing and implementing derivative solutions
  • Strong project management skills
  • Strong capabilities in MS Excel, Bloomberg, FactSet (or similar modeling and investment systems)
  • CFA and/or ASA designation
  • Master’s in finance/business
  • Experience with life/annuity liabilities
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills
  • Superior analytical and problem solving skills
  • Team player who is comfortable working in a dynamic, entrepreneurial environment
