RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Pricing and modeling group life, disability, critical illness, and health products for company’s clients and new business
  • Support the production of external publications, conduct market surveys, and help clients with product development initiatives
  • Monitor portfolio experience and compile various financial reports and performance dashboards
  • study the impact of emerging experience and market trends on our portfolio and recommend updates to pricing assumptions and rate actions.
  • Learn the interaction between the actuarial, underwriting, and claims departments
  • Support the development and implementation of growth strategies related to new distribution channels and financial reinsurance solutions
  • Work on high-impact special projects for executives and home office.
QUALIFICATIONS
  • University Degree in Actuarial Science, Statistics, or Mathematics.
  • ASA or FSA/FCIA, or progressing towards.
  • 0-3 years of experience in the Canadian Life and Health insurance/reinsurance industry.
  • Keen strategic thinking, business acumen and problem solving skills.
  • Excellent analytical and abstract reasoning skills.
  • Superior communication skills with ability to communicate effectively and with impact in a variety of settings, including formal presentations, written documents, and client meetings.
  • Demonstrated ability to adapt in a dynamic environment.
  • Demonstrated flexibility and effectiveness working under tight timelines.
  • Superior attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Strong problem solving and organization skills.
  • Ability to establish and maintain good working relationships with other departments.
  • -Advanced Excel, Word, Access.
  • Experience with AXIS is an asset but not required
