RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Fully accountable for the management and outcomes of the Pricing Department.
  • Work in collaboration with peers to ensure our current pricing appropriately balances the overall value proposition to the customer with profitability, revenue opportunities and risk.
  • Support strategic development to achieve the company’s short and long term business goals and objectives. In partnership with the Director, Chair the product & pricing committee.
  • Manage the ongoing profitability by product, segment, and channel with the ability to report on performance, pinpointing key issues and actions to resolve, based on a well-defined approach to portfolio monitoring.
  • Build the strategy and implement increasingly sophisticated models to improve loss ratios and financial risk for the organization.
  • Work in close partnership with Product team to appropriately solve business problems for our customers.
  • Coach, direct and develop associates.
  • Build a future focused, strong actuarial pricing team.
  • Drive cultural change and engagement by role modelling connection & collaboration across the organization.
  • Lead and/or approve associate-related activities concerning hiring, training/development, and evaluation of staff performance.
  • Instill a culture of continuous improvement, driving efficiencies and effectiveness within the team.
QUALIFICATIONS
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Mathematics, Statistics or Actuarial Science coupled with a minimum of 10 years’ actuarial experience, preferably in the area of pricing or product development.
  • FCAS designation or FSA / FCIA required.
  • Exceptional knowledge of statistical and actuarial modelling processes, pricing techniques, and forecasting.
  • Experience with RADAR a bonus.
  • Minimum 3 years’ leadership experience.
  • Demonstrated ability to build strong relationships at all levels of the organization.
  • Demonstrated ability to effectively lead people, get results through others and provide coaching/constructive feedback.
