RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Develop and maintain a compelling vision for the data organization; advocate for the investment to move towards that vision; build a multi-year strategic road map for the data assets and capabilities; and execute on that road map to help drive profitable growth for the organization.
  • Build policies, processes, and organizational structures to govern data increasing data literacy throughout the enterprise. Partner with key stakeholders to set standards for best practices in content delivery, solution quality and completeness.
  • Facilitates availability and accessibility of quality data to increase business agility and self-serve capabilities. Partner with business leaders to enable increased adoption of ML/AI in decision making across various functions.
  • Drive efforts towards using data to generate insights across the enterprise. Partner with various stakeholders to unlock business value presented by company data assets and help innovate their products, services, and business model.
  • Directs the team that designs, develops, and implements future or existing data analytic solutions.
  • Participates in forecasting, budget, and staff based on volumes and growth projections to meet department service goals and company financial goals.
  • Analyzes and develops new policies, procedures and workflows to continuously improve efficiencies, working environments and system support services.
  • Delivers solutions that meet business requirements while managing cost, timeliness, and quality.
  • Manages projects as requested, utilizing a standard project management methodology.
  • Developments, prioritizes, and monitors defects, enhancements as well as continuing operational support.
  • Creates strategic direction for the business intelligence and analytics team.
  • Monitors industry trends and tool advancements in the market.
  • Actively takes steps to recruit and retain a diverse team along with promoting inclusion.
  • Demonstrates leadership in developing, empowering, attracting, and retaining talent.
  • Ensures associates build expertise and capabilities appropriate for their role, including any specific training requirements to maintain professional designations.
  • Holds regular one-on-one meetings with direct reports to have dialogue that includes coaching and development.
  • Researches, develops, and implements system improvements that exceed industry leaders to ensure our competitive edge in the marketplace.
QUALIFICATIONS
  • Bachelor of Arts or Science degree or equivalent work experience required; Master's preferred.
  • CIC, CPCU, or ARM preferred.
  • Strong leadership and influencing skills.
  • Proficient in managing projects of all sizes.
  • Strong problem solving, diagnostic, and analytical skills.
  • Proficient in the use of Microsoft Office Suite of tools including MS Project.
  • Understanding of business intelligence and related technical platforms.
  • Advanced knowledge of Data Warehouse/business intelligence and analytics project lifecycle tools, technologies, testing, and best practices.
  • Understanding of Data Modeling, Information Technology Architecture, and development of best practices.
  • Broad understanding of statistical reporting demands, requirements, and compliance implications.
  • Knowledge of common financial, and business metrics.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills including the ability to explain technical concepts to non-technical people.
  • Continuously foster relationships and maintain alignment with all business units ensuring a unified vision and philosophy apparent to our internal and external customers.
  • Strong knowledge of business practices and theories, including a sound understanding of the business.
  • Ability to develop relationships in the organization at all levels. Promotes teamwork; coaches and guides others working toward the team roadmap goals.
