  • Demonstrates foundational knowledge of software and source system applications with the ability to locate, query, extract, manipulate, and reconcile data.
  • Understands programming and coding in supported software platform. Researches and provides suggestions to develop or modify information systems. Codes, tests, debug, documents and maintains programs.
  • Understands how to develop well-defined user specifications following departmental documentation standards.
  • Accurately produce details and requirements needed for internal and external requests and reports by following specifications in place.
  • Documents requirements for new product installations, new client installations, and client maintenance related to actuarial processes
  • Completes deliverables related to the month-end GL Financial Close process
  • Prepares of Credit Related Rate and Experience Filings.
  • Performs analysis at manager’s request for new states’ regulatory requirements.
  • Understands various data modeling practices to support Actuarial & Data Analytics projects.
  • Executes on multiple projects with varying deadlines; communicates status to manager regularly.
  • Proactively works to build strong relationships with peers, manager, and internal areas.
  • Actively manages self-development. Seeks knowledge & skills from team and other resources to accomplish goals.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Finance, Mathematics, Business, Actuarial Science, Computer Science, or Statistics.
  • 2 years or more of overall professional experience.
  • Intermediate proficiency in MS Office Applications including Excel, PowerPoint, Word, Outlook, SharePoint.
  • Intermediate proficiency to various data repository platforms (SAS/SQL/etc.) and analytical software (R, Python, Tableau, Power BI, etc.).
  • Design, development and production support experience on Data Warehousing and Business Intelligence (preferred).
  • Ability to review basic requirements and provide essential details in reports, memorandums and other communications for internal and external inquiries
  • Demonstrates an effective balance between working through challenges independently and asking for guidance
  • Can analyze results and make suggestions
  • Intermediate understanding of insurance product knowledge/terminology
  • Intermediate understanding of database theory and experience working with databases
