RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Pricing responsibility for a diverse range of products and market segments
  • Ensure accuracy, actuarial soundness, and consistency of all line of business pricing models
  • Pricing and selection analysis for all new products and product changes.
  • Ensuring rates remain competitive in the marketplace while keeping financial risks and opportunities balanced.
  • Regulatory compliance and filing of all rates and pricing methodologies
  • Creation and coordination of presentations for Senior Management and General Manager approval of proposed rate actions.
  • Submission and optimization of data for benchmarking of company’s network discounts for clients.
  • Partners closely with pricing team and each line of business general manager and their team to ensure competitive and market-responsive pricing
  • Monthly analysis of financial variances to forecast and communication to Senior Management.
  • Updating and communicating the full-year financial outlook on a monthly basis.
  • Generating detailed revenue and cost of healthcare forecasts for annual plan.
  • Revenue accruals for specific lines of business
  • Consulting with and providing analysis to the corporate actuarial team to set claim reserves and trends.
QUALIFICATIONS
  • Strong academic background. Bachelor's degree required; FSA/MAAA certification required.
  • Minimum of 15 years of actuarial experience with at least 10 years in management
  • Possess pricing experience across multiple lines of business, including Commercial and Government products.
  • Comfortable creating productive relationships with non-Actuarial executives across the enterprise and have the ability to explain highly technical actuarial concepts to non-Actuarial executives in general management and finance functions
  • Significant time during his/her career at complex companies where “managing the matrix” is common.
  • Demonstrated the ability to work effectively and to collaborate closely with executive leadership to coordinate activities of the company and to achieve enterprise goals
  • Proven experience driving financial performance strategies to improve profitability in Medicare, MediCal, and ASO product offerings.
