  • Evaluate and execute new acquisition/growth opportunities as well as develop and implement strategic alternatives important to the Senior Management Team, the shareholders and the board of directors
  • Lead the development of detailed financial evaluations and models such as acquisition/merger, valuation, synergies, returns analysis, and various other ad hoc analyses
  • Lead the transaction execution process, including the coordination of internal working groups and external advisors, due diligence / documentation / closing, and post-merger integration
  • Develop various presentations to the SMT and the Board of Directors
  • Oversee industry research and develop sector, segment, and company deep dives to support company strategic objectives
  • Develop and maintain productive relationships across the organization and with industry and professional networks.
  • BBA or BSc with either a recognized accounting designation (CPA), Fellow of the Canadian Institute of Actuaries (FCIA) or MBA.
  • Relevant experience in complex corporate environments; experience includes Corporate Development, Private Equity, or Advisory Services. Industries preferred include Insurance, Financial Institutions, or General Business within matrix model
  • Proven direct end-to-end acquisition execution experience is required
  • Excellent financial modeling and analytical skills
  • Strong communication and presentation skills with experience in interacting with senior level management
  • Detail oriented with ability to manage multiple high priority tasks
  • Demonstrable strong project management skills
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
  • Bilingualism is considered an asset
