RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Provision of quotations, for new treaties or for repricing of existing business, with the aim to achieve a competitive and profitable outcome
  • Undertake and complete allocated projects, relating to Life Actuarial activities
  • Compliance with Actuarial standards and the Life Insurance Act 1995
  • Development of models and processes
  • ​-Review documentation for technical accuracy
QUALIFICATIONS
  • Qualification as a Fellow of the Institute of Actuaries of Australia or equivalent (essential) with Up to 5 years post qualification experience in a Life (re)insurance pricing or reserving environment (highly desirable)
  • Knowledge of the Life Insurance Acts in Australia and New Zealand, likely to be developed through classroom training plus experience in a direct Life Insurance or reinsurance office
  • Familiarity with existing individual risk products - product features, benefits, pricing, reserving, for the Australian and NZ markets
  • Demonstrated abilities to lead projects and deliver positive outcomes which balance between technicality and commerciality
  • Strong technical report writing skills (essential). Production of comprehensive, commercial reports and documentation, including considered opinion and justification of data and content
  • Strong modelling and MS Excel computer skills (essential). AXIS, SQL and VBA experience well regarded.
