  • Oversee teams that will implement rate changes, segmentation and other pricing strategies to meet financial targets.
  • Work collaboratively with senior management and key stakeholders to expand and build on complex project plans.
  • Provide technical leadership on emerging actuarial issues.
  • Combine advanced actuarial knowledge with sound business judgment in developing sophisticated models to achieve growth and profitability targets.
  • Collaborate with key stakeholders in projections for financial plan and forecasts.
  • Leverage company, industry and other data to assess rate level adequacy and develop rate level adjustments.
  • Develop, maintain and continuously improve complex personal automobile and property rating structures.
  • Provide strategic direction for pricing managers to align pricing changes with business objectives.
  • Work collaboratively with senior leaders and provide leadership in diverse business matters.
  • Communicate actuarial concepts effectively to internal and external stakeholders.
  • Ensure operational efficiency through automation and consistent application of tools, models, resources and processes across all regions and business units.
  • Ensure compliance to provincial legislations by maintaining a thorough knowledge of regulatory requirements and a sound business relationship with regulators.
  • Coordinate the development of new and continuous improvement of current actuarial policies, tools, processes and reports used across multiple regions and business units to ensure effective monitoring and governance of our business.
  • Work with our corporate teams, our regional offices and divisions to identify operational and strategic priorities, while building business plans for the profitable underwriting of personal insurance products.
  • Plan, recruit, develop and retain skilled staff to achieve our corporate objectives.
  • University degree in Actuarial Science or a relevant discipline
  • Successfully achieved Fellowship with the Casualty Actuarial Society and the Canadian Institute of Actuaries
  • Minimum 10 years of relevant Personal Lines Pricing experience and a minimum of 3 years leading teams.
  • Solid project management skills, including communication, organization and execution.
  • Professional, friendly and courteous in all interactions
  • Able to thrive in a fast-paced environment and remain calm under pressure
