RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Supporting actuarial product teams in a broad range of consulting services and audit support assignment.
  • Work closely with our senior actuaries on our appointed actuary services including actuarial liability valuation and dynamic capital adequacy testing, product development, mergers & acquisition, advisory services on new IFRS and a variety of other consulting work.
  • Support the team in re-performing the actuarial liabilities, analyze and review valuation methodologies and assumptions.
  • Work directly with actuaries and other actuarial students on a variety of projects, including cross-functional projects with other departments within the company.
  • Participate in business development activities such as development of service proposals and quotes, industry presentations, marketing material.
  • Support relationship building with our clients.
QUALIFICATIONS
  • An interest in upskilling for a digital world and technology trends, an openness to learning new tools and adapting how you work.
  • 3+ years of experience in the P&C insurance industry including policy liability valuation and Dynamic Capital Adequacy Testing.
  • Bachelor's degree in Actuarial Science, Applied Statistics, Mathematics or related quantitative disciplines.
  • Actively pursuing the Canadian Institute of Actuaries qualification of FCIA, or recent FCIA.
  • Proficiency using statistical applications such as Reserve Pro, Arius, R, @Risk.
  • Strong work and business ethics, committed to client service and quality.
  • Self-motivated and able to work as part of a team.
  • Proven ability to manage multiple, concurrent priorities.
  • Detail oriented and strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
