RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Originate and present new capital management related solutions to key client decision makers, including reinsurance managers, CROs and CFOs.
  • Lead interdisciplinary deal teams and coordinate transactions with clients and brokers in cooperation with the Capital Partners product experts and the stakeholder community.
  • Calculate and demonstrate impact of reinsurance proposals on the client’s KPI’s including impact on economic, regulatory and rating capital.
  • Negotiate complex reinsurance, to a lesser extent also ILS and capital markets transactions with clients’ key decision makers and market intermediaries.
  • Speak at seminars and other industry events, publish internal speaking papers and external articles about reinsurance as an efficient capital surrogate.
  • Support strategic projects dedicated to expand the firm’s underwriting scope along with Capital Partners value proposition.
  • Train Client Managers and Underwriters in the areas of alternative risk transfer, reinsurance as a capital substitute and capital modelling.
QUALIFICATIONS
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Finance, Mathematics, Actuarial Science, Economics, Statistics or related field. MBA preferred.
  • Ten+ years of relevant experience in the insurance sector with a demonstrated track record in executing structured reinsurance, retroactive reinsurance or insurance risk securitization transactions, or an equivalent background in enterprise risk management analytics, actuarial science, insurance corporate finance and financial modelling.
  • Deep understanding of the US casualty market and products is of advantage.
  • Ability to interpret financial statements along with a sound understanding of insurance risk underwriting and actuarial methods.
  • Sound understanding of international regulatory and accounting standards as well as solvency and rating capital models.
  • Innovative and execution-driven entrepreneurial mind set combined with strong cooperation and communication skills.
  • Experienced team and project leader with strong project management and networking capabilities.
  • Ability to take on responsibility and work independently, and competence to prioritize.
  • Strong interpersonal skills to effectively communicate in a multi-cultural dynamic work environment.
