RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Pricing of reinsurance transactions and internal retrocession treaties.
  • Contribution to growth and profitability.
  • Close collaboration with the underwriting team, including attending and travelling to client and broker meetings.
  • Pricing, data analytics, and product development services for our clients.
  • Reports on pricing and expected profitability for the Underwriting department.
  • Interaction with Reserving to assure that the output of the pricing process is reflected initially in Reserving and included in the management reports.
  • Development of studies to improve pricing parameters and to evaluate the profitability of various segments of business.
  • Support of the development of actuarial tools and methods, including data analytics.
  • Appropriate utilization of pricing and evaluation tools.
  • Networking on actuarial subjects, both internal and external.
  • Support of the cat modelling team in respect of the creation and the update of Nat cat models including testing.
  • All other miscellaneous responsibilities as required by management.
QUALIFICATIONS
  • University degree in Mathematics.
  • Willingness to pursue fellowship or equivalent in an internationally recognized actuarial association.
  • Experience in the pricing of reinsurance treaties is a plus, but not a prerequisite.
  • Pricing experience with Asian Property and Casualty business and in particular experience in Motor insurance rate making are a plus.
  • Good communication skills and experience working with underwriters and clients.
  • Practical work/programming experience in MS Excel, VBA, R, Python, etc.
  • - Strong pragmatic problem solving capabilities.
  • Good team spirit, inter-personal competency.
