  • Support individual life reinsurance actuarial, treaty underwriting, reinsurance administration and internal reinsurance clearing house functions for the Branch in relation with reinsurance programs for individual life’s high net worth business.
  • Conduct quarterly reporting and periodic experience studies for reinsurance treaties optimization.
  • Assist in the reinsurance coordination activities for our markets.
  • Support internal and external audit activities related to reinsurance.
  • Assist the Chief Risk Officer in providing strategic and tactical direction on actuarial and financial risks for the business unit, aligned with both the risk requirements of the enterprise and the business unit’s strategic goals.
  • Assist the business unit throughout the organization with risk evaluation/analysis pertaining to products, asset/liability management, investment, capital, MEUC and regulatory.
  • Work on periodic review of existing policies and procedures to ensure effectiveness, integrity and insightfulness of risk information reported, including the annual compliance attestation and other risk processes.
  • Contribute to the risk culture to positively influence identification, compliance and resolution of significant risks/opportunities.
  • Serve as the primary actuarial specialist and subject matter expert for our Reinsurance Subsidiary and its management.
  • Lead role in the preparation of Bermuda regulatory filings.
  • Monitor the adequacy of company’s risk management policies and ERM’s controls along with the company’s current/prospective solvency positions.
  • Conduct periodic financial and governance reporting for Board and governance Officers meetings.
  • Monitor the evolving regulatory environments that affects our business to ensure the Company complies with financial reporting, risk management and capital adequacy regulations, plan for potential changes and look out for new potential growth opportunities and process improvements.
  • Serve as liaison to the reinsurance administration team, in support of new treaties and amendments.
  • Support other ERM activities.
  • FSA designation.
  • Minimum of 7-10 years’ experience in the life insurance/reinsurance industry.
  • Exposure to financial reporting, risk management, including affiliated and third-party structured reinsurance.
  • Strong individual life insurance pricing and product knowledge, including traditional risk transfer reinsurance.
  • Understanding of international regulatory capital frameworks such as Canada, Asia and Bermuda is a plus.
  • Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Excel, AXIS.
