RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Enhance the relative competitive advantage that the company holds over the market related to coverage and pricing while renewing our individual reinsurance treaty agreements and corporate insurance policies.
  • Analyze risk and return tradeoffs between alternative re/insurance structure options.
  • Develop and maintain relationships with brokers, reinsurers and insurers.
  • Ensure the proper management of reinsurance and corporate insurance claims.
  • Maintain excellent communication and collaboration with a wide variety of internal stakeholders including finance, risk management, actuarial, legal, underwriting, claims and the executive committee.
  • Collaborate with regulatory authorities, rating agencies, and auditors.
  • Support the runoff of the insurance fronting operation.
  • Participate in due diligence related to potential acquisition and new business segment opportunities, in conjunction with Corporate Development and other departments across the company.
  • Collaborate to integrate any newly acquired businesses from a reinsurance treaty and operational perspective.
QUALIFICATIONS
  • An accomplished insurance professional with 5 years of leadership and at least 12 to 15 years of experience in the insurance or reinsurance industry.
  • Bachelor’s degree in a related field, including to Actuarial science, Finance, Mathematics, or Statistics.
  • Have strong analytical skills, entrepreneurial qualities, and the ability to coordinate and build relationships with people in and outside of the company.
  • Have the ambition to operate autonomously while managing many different projects.
  • You possess a high degree of business acumen.
  • As a curious leader, you are calm and a good listener with an ability to unify the team.
  • Known as humble and authentic, you have the ability to attract and recruit top talent, motivate the team, delegate effectively, celebrate diversity within the team, and manage performance.

  • Bilinguals, French and English is an asset.
