RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Providing descriptive analytics and demonstrating an in-depth understanding of the data to support strategy development, drive insights and identify opportunities and obstacles to successfully achieve department objectives.
  • Maintaining excellent knowledge of department data sources, efficiently extracting data using Business Intelligence tools or programming languages and conducting the appropriate validations to ensure accuracy, completeness, interpretability and reconciliation of data.
  • Representing the department on initiatives by providing analysis, input and developing stories to explain the impact of proposed or recently implemented changes.
  • Training and coaching stakeholder teams to support the execution of new or revised metrics and the effective use of dashboards.
  • Supporting the development, measurement, monitoring and reporting of department key performance metrics.
QUALIFICATIONS
  • You have five years of experience in a statistical, actuarial, financial or related analytics role.
  • You have a post-secondary degree in Actuarial Science, Mathematics, Statistics, Finance or a related discipline.
  • You have advanced analytical skills, including demonstrated experience appropriately evaluating and resolving complex problems.
  • You have an innovative mindset to improve operational efficiencies and ability to influence change, with a primary focus on client needs.  
  • You use critical thinking skills to recognize assumptions, evaluate arguments, draw conclusions and proactively propose solutions.
  • You have strong communication skills to clearly convey messages and explore diverse points of view. 
  • You build trusting relationships and provide guidance to support the development of colleagues.
