RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Utilizing actuarial tools and techniques, participating in the development of best practices and improving pricing models to ensure alignment with corporate rate strategies and industry trends.
  • Assessing the profitability of portfolios under review, designing reports and supporting the annual planning process by providing information on rates, loss trends and loss ratios.
  • Managing expenditures, contributing to the development of budgets and conducting, planning and organizing projects and pricing reviews.
  • Assisting with rates implementation and improving the review process by identifying required changes, anticipating potential issues and proposing strategies to support successful execution.
  • Coaching and developing your team, recruiting and selecting talent, managing and rewarding performance, and fostering an agile culture to deliver on strategic objectives.
QUALIFICATIONS
  • You have 10 years of experience in Actuarial Pricing, including five years of experience as a people leader.
  • You have a post-secondary degree in Actuarial Science, Mathematics or a related discipline.
  • You hold the Associate of the Casualty Actuarial Society designation.
  • You have expert knowledge of actuarial pricing principles, concepts and theories and are skilled in quantitative data analysis tools and modelling software.
  • You build trusting relationships and provide feedback to enable the successful development of your team and colleagues.
  • You foster innovation and continuous improvement with a focus on client experience.
  • You facilitate the adoption of change and create a high-performance culture through alignment of your team’s work with organizational goals.
  • You successfully convey messages and demonstrate openness to exploring alternative points of view.
  • You use critical thinking to guide decision making and apply a strategic mindset to adjust business plans based on shifting priorities.
