RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Develop and deploy sophisticated predictive models and analytics solutions.
  • Identify opportunities for automation and process efficiencies across business areas and work with stakeholders to implement solutions.
  • Effectively manage timelines for independent projects and analysis.
  • Communicate actuarial concepts and provide recommendations to internal and external stakeholders.
  • Develop knowledge of actuarial operations and the insurance business, including predictive modeling, reserving, planning, underwriting, claims handling, and product development.
  • Perform peer reviews on the technical and qualitative analysis of team members.
  • Support the Manager in coaching and counselling of less experienced team members.
QUALIFICATIONS
  • University degree in any one of the following programs: Actuarial Sciences, Mathematics, Statistics, Computer Science.
  • Completion of 6 exams of the Casualty Actuarial Society.
  • 4-7 years of relevant full-time experience; knowledge of actuarial valuation and reserving is preferred.
  • Strong programming skills in VBA, SAS, R, and/or Python.
  • Excellent communication and organizational skills.
  • Able to perform well in a busy operation and remain calm under pressure.
  • Team player, adaptable to a changing and fast-paced environment.
