  • Lead, motivate and develop medical pricing teams, balancing Marketing, Client/Partner, Profitability, and underwriting requirements.
  • Be the technical gate keeper on the ground.
  • Responsible for accepting medical insurance risks and owning the Asia Medical Reinsurance portfolio.
  • Execute new Private Medical Insurance business opportunities, both insurance and corporate.
  • Maximise results of writing PMI risks.
  • Maintain consistency and adequacy of the profitability of the book of business.
  • Responsible for identifying, investigating, modelling, reporting and resolving issues with potential business that is believed to be performing other than originally expected.
  • Responsible for building and maintaining strong relationships with other departments within the company to facilitate the resolution of potential business issues.
  • Support PMI product development and articulate and develop company's risk appetite for PMI risks.
  • Develop and Innovate new PMI value propositions focused on product development, health and wellness solutions as well as new models of distribution.
  • Develop and showcase company's claims and actuarial data analytics for the purposes of identifying claim cost control measures and pricing and product interventions to sustain business performance.
  • Work closely with account executives, and build relationships with potential clients and functional experts to ensure effective delivery of products and services.
  • Maintain aggressive, achievable but measurable action plans, which are in line with the Divisional plan and the Group strategy.
  • Manage the development of team to foster technical & leadership learning, and to develop and retain talent.
  • Maintain full understanding of regulatory environment under which the PMI team operates and ensure compliance with internal and regulatory guidelines.
  • Qualified actuary with 8 - 10 years post qualification experience.
  • Strong international insurance / reinsurance knowledge with technical / operational experience preferred.
  • Ability to lead, develop, motivate and manage a regional team of professionals in an environment of change.
  • Confident communicator and fluent in English, other languages a plus.
