  • Lead the development and implementation of a new commercial auto product which includes development in several areas including actuarial, underwriting and insurance operations.
  • Develop pricing from base rate setting, model building, implementation, to monitoring and maintenance of the rating plan.
  • Responsible for filing and receiving approval for rate and rule plans with the CDI.
  • Leverage industry knowledge to recommend underwriting guidelines that fit our overall strategies.
  • Provide input and recommendations for policy servicing and claims handling.
  • Develops formal presentations and briefs executive management on recommendations.
  • Manages product for effectiveness and leads the development of recommendations to improve product performance in ways that align with enterprise strategies and objectives.
  • Maintains a high level of understanding of economic conditions, regulatory issues, and competitor practices with respect to pricing, products, and marketing within this market.
  • Four-year college degree in marketing, business, management, finance, quantitative or technical field or equivalent combination of education and work experience required.
  • MBA and/or CPCU preferred.
  • FCAS or ACAS preferred.
  • 5 or more years of actuarial/product management experience in commercial auto lines required.
  • Prior strategic planning experience strongly preferred.
  • Demonstrated experience in project management preferred.
  • Strong industry knowledge in commercial lines, pricing and product philosophies.
  • Advanced ability to compile, analyze and interpret statistical data preferred.
  • Advanced ability to think strategically and transform strategy into actionable plans required.
  • Advanced ability required to define and lead implementation of new processes.
  • Requires advanced ability to coordinate and control major projects.
  • Requires advanced ability to communicate clearly and effectively at all levels - both verbally and in writing.
  • Requires a high degree of independent decision making and problem-solving skills.
  • Advanced computer skills with Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Tableau preferred.
