RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Develop RFPs and evaluate proposals for a variety of health and welfare benefits - e.g., medical, pharmacy, dental, vision, stop loss, life, disability, and other benefit programs.
  • Research topics related to a wide variety of benefit provisions and client questions.
  • Develop project plans and manage multiple client projects simultaneously.
  • Collaborate with consultants and vendors on behalf of clients.
  • Prepare reports and presentations related to the subject material.
  • Gather data to form conclusions and benchmark key utilization and cost statistics to manage clients’ health plans.
  • Analyze and interpret data for a variety of health and welfare benefits, including medical, pharmacy, stop loss, dental, vision, life and disability coverages, and other benefit programs.
  • Understand budget projections.
  • Price benefit changes for health coverages utilizing experience and/or manual rating tools.
  • Work on ad-hoc analyses, reports, and projects.
QUALIFICATIONS
  • Undergraduate degree with experience in a quantitative analysis and analytical skills.
  • 2-6 years of health benefits, actuarial, managed care, and/or underwriting experience.
  • Experience evaluating vendor proposals is a plus.
  • familiarity with various funding arrangements - e.g., fully insured vs self-insured, participating vs non-participating, etc.
  • Ability to work independently with limited direction and adapt to changing client needs, new market trends and concepts.
  • Strong analytical skills.
  • Action-oriented and detailed.
  • Able to thrive in a fast-paced environment, managing conflicting deadlines tactfully.
  • Proficiency in project management.
  • Excellent follow-through and strong communication skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office products, with emphasis on Excel
