RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Consulting, actuarial and analytics support on various insurance business lines and programs.
  • Coaching and supporting the development of junior actuarial resources, as well as identification and implementation of process and efficiency improvements.
  • Coordination and review of pricing and loss reserving analysis and pro forma financial modeling.
  • Support to senior consulting staff on consulting mandates, including production of reports, presentations, summary analyses, client communications, etc.
  • Development of analysis and recommendations related to strategic bidding processes for partner relationships on behalf of our clients.
  • Client-facing support on both technical and strategic issues.
  • Working with non-actuarial staff to support broader insights into client issues.
  • Project management and oversight of day-to-day client deliverables.
QUALIFICATIONS
  • In pursuit of their actuarial fellowship designation through the exams of either the Casualty Actuarial Society or Society of Actuaries, with a focus on Property & Casualty General Actuarial exams.
  • Associate designation or near to it.
  • Approximately 5+ years of working experience in the actuarial field, with a preferred focus on property & casualty actuarial consulting.
  • Experience with standard actuarial pricing and/or reserving techniques.
  • Problem solving, critical thinking and ability to apply technical assets to solve complex business problems.
  • Past consulting experience and/or Affinity experience considered to be an asset.
  • Able to apply advanced mathematical / actuarial concepts.
  • Skilled in using Microsoft Excel, Word and PowerPoint.
  • Experience with actuarial programming in languages such as “R”.
  • Experience in PowerBI considered an asset.
  • Ability to perform in-depth investigations to support problem identification and development of effective, creative solutions.
