RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Ensure local reporting is completed in a timely manner and the report meets prescribed reporting standards and guidelines.
  • Support in analyzing and explaining financial results produced.
  • Establish processes control and data completeness checking to ensure quality results are produced.
  • Identify opportunities for improvement in local reporting and work with various functional teams for implementation to achieve smoothed fast closing.
  • Attend to regulator, group office, board of directors, auditors’ requests or queries within agreed deadline / turnaround time.
  • No material audit issues for statutory valuation.
  • Design and maintain corporate policy on the principles and practices on participating business management.
  • Conduct detailed analyses and prepare reports for dividend recommendations.
  • Review disclosures related to non-guaranteed benefits and are in accordance with internal policy and Management of Participating Life Business.
  • Provide explanations of results and recommendations to product and distribution teams as well as other stakeholders including regional and group offices.
  • Identify and implement process improvements for the asset share calculation and dividend / bonus determination processes.
  • Manage resource efficiently.
  • Provide guidance/advice/suggestion for personal/team improvement.
  • Discuss personal development with direct reports at least three times a year.
  • Establish a structured development plan for each team member.
QUALIFICATIONS
  • Candidate must possess at least a Bachelor's Degree in Actuarial Science and is pursuing Actuarial Professional Exam in any actuarial professional body.
  • At least 5 years of working experience in the related field is required for this position.
  • Preferably Managers specializing in Actuarial specifically in the insurance industry.
  • Proficient in using spreadsheet and programming, especially in Excel and Prophet.
  • Good oral and written communication skills in English.
  • A good team player who is keen to learn and able to work independently.
