RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Build statistical models to select and price insurance business.
  • Evaluate and refine existing models to increase profitability.
  • Help build internal platforms and infrastructure to speed up the data science lifecycle.
  • Clearly communicate model results to senior leaders.
  • Collaborate with business experts to improve existing processes through analytics.
  • Keep up-to-date with latest technology.
  • Analyze data and recommend ways to increase quality.
QUALIFICATIONS
  • 2-5 years of experience in a data science or analytics role.
  • Strong P&C Insurance industry experience is preferred.
  • 5+ years of experience in SQL and extracting and cleaning data for modeling purposes.
  • Proficient in Python or R.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of machine learning techniques and an understanding of traditional statistical methods such as GLMs.
  • Excellent communication skills and the ability to communicate clearly to both technical and non-technical audiences.
  • Publicly available code is a plus.
  • Ability to meet deadlines, determine priorities and adapt to changing priorities as needed.
  • Strong logical, analytical and reasoning abilities and attention to detail.
  • Demonstrate organizational skills while working on multiple project initiatives.
  • Ability to work independently, takes ownership, determine the urgency of situations and respond accordingly.
