RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Runs technical software programs that simulate catastrophic events.
  • Maintains accurate data input for catastrophe exposure monitors and models.
  • Assists in analysis and reporting of results.
  • Develops risk profiles, balances, subject premiums and other support information for reinsurance placement.
  • Collects data from various corporate information systems, scrubs and prepares for analysis.
  • Makes decisions regarding distribution of data, reasonableness of data, and provides recommendations.
  • Assists in updating and analyzing reinsurer and broker financial results.
  • Provides catastrophe exposure related guidance and reporting to Sr. Management.
QUALIFICATIONS
  • Bachelor’s degree with 1-3 years’ experience or equivalent education/experience.
  • Prior insurance experience preferable including work in areas such as actuarial, finance, underwriting, or reinsurance including basic insurance coverage knowledge; background in mathematics and/or finance with some emphasis on probability & statistics.
  • Demonstrated proficiency with computer software including Microsoft Office Suite and other data entry and spreadsheet applications and programs.
  • Some prior insurance coverage knowledge.
  • Strong analytical background is essential.
  • Requires an increasing amount of high-level exposure. This entails communication of results and recommendations to Senior Management.
  • Strong written and oral communication skills are essential.
  • Must be capable of some business travel.
