RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Development, monitoring and updating of credit and pricing models and tools for the purposes of risk management and credit granting decision-making.
  • Ensures models are updated and aligned to comply with Company’s Model Risk Management policies.
  • Work collaboratively to support/lead model validation activities of models with responsibilities.
  • Quantification and reporting of Insurance program’s future expected losses and claims forecast.
  • Propose solutions with imperfect information using actuarial, statistical and/or data science techniques.
  • Be expected to independently manage the non-standard requests that come to the team.
  • Contributes to and/or presents business cases to management and/or senior management.
  • Provide support to senior management to inform strategic decision-making.
  • Influence the achievement of internal/external customer, operational, project or service objectives.
  • Interpret internal/external business challenges and recommends best practices to improve models, processes or services.
  • Contribution to Insurance Analytics’ ongoing process efficiency improvements.
  • Documentation of internal processes.
QUALIFICATIONS
  • Completed an Undergraduate Degree in Actuarial Science or in Mathematics or in a related field.
  • Knowledge of actuarial principles and practices.
  • Advanced analytical and financial risk assessment skills.
  • Advanced Microsoft Excel skills, including VBA.
  • Advanced programming skills in data manipulation and experience in the management and manipulation of large and complex data files.
  • Fluent in English.
  • Completed 8-9 exams, ACAS or ASA designation or equivalent number of exams/modules of either the Casualty Actuarial Society or the Society of Actuaries.
  • Minimum 7 years’ experience in actuarial analysis and risk management.
  • Assets:
  • Active pursuit of actuarial designation.
  • Advanced skills in using risk quantification and simulation tools such as @RISK, R, etc.
  • Analytics related skills.
  • Experience communicating with and influencing decisions at a senior management level.
  • Familiarity with Enterprise Risk Management.
  • Familiarity with model validation and documentation frameworks.
  • Knowledge of both official languages.
