RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Accountable for reporting and analyzing data to measure key claims function performance indicators and drive alignment across claims operations and shared functions.
  • Responsible for the development and tracking of costs and benefits as well as KPI’s for operational and strategic initiatives; implementing operational performance measurement; conducting financial planning and aggregation of all claims reporting to align with finance processes; developing and monitors claims trend reporting in conjunction with the actuarial team.
  • Implementing operational processes and strategies to drive workforce optimization including analysis of insourcing/outsourcing mix to drive the most cost effective structure; and perform cost-benefit analysis and operational tracking of strategic and operational initiatives.

  • Demonstrates leadership, knowledge and application of the insurance industry and claims monitoring reporting and processing metrics, standards of practice, policies, procedures and quality improvement processes, all of which align to the strategic, operational and financial goals of the company.
  • Acutely aware of industry best practices, the successful Director, Planning and Operational Analysis is known for impeccable business acumen, deep analytics capability and actuarial knowledge.
  • Able to identify opportunities that support the short and long-term goals of the company.
  • Extracts and provides accurate data for the business with the seasoned experience to interpret this data effectively to tell the company’s story in the market and create processes for continual improvement and best-in-class customer claims experience.
  • Results-oriented operations leader with a related university degree and a financial or actuarial designation.
  • Experience in financial leadership of operational and strategic projects. An exceptional communicator and expert in data-driven strategy execution.
  • Brings 10+ years in progressively senior and diverse roles in the insurance industry including claims, actuarial and underwriting.
  • Significant operational expertise including strong data analytics and KPI development experience, public company exposure, property & casualty insurance familiarity, and the proven ability to build strong relationships to drive cross-functional efficiencies.
  • Inspiring and collaborative leader able to affect change and the confidence to determine priorities and communicate the timelines and measurement of results.
  • Have led and motivated highly capable teams of professionals through transformational growth.
  • Experienced leveraging financial modelling and trend analysis to create efficiencies and make project and process recommendations to senior executives.
  • Convey granular and technical trend details with clarity while delivering recommendations and required implementation strategies to support the financial and operational strategies of the company.
