  • Manage the overall Branch relationship with key protection clients, co-ordinating the delivery of services throughout the value chain.
  • Build and maintain relationships with potential clients, promoting the company to build a strong foundation for writing business.
  • Use your commercial acumen and knowledge of the market dynamics to shape company’s client and product strategy.
  • Develop protection reinsurance solutions and services, considering client demands and company’s risk appetite in a changing market, and promote these to potential clients.
  • Lead the pricing of protection business, using astute actuarial judgement and in-depth analysis to source profitable business.
  • Lead innovation activities, including identifying external providers offering services that could enhance company’s offering to its clients.
  • Collaborate with our Biometric Research team, and propose new research topics based on market opportunities.
  • Contribute to the external visibility programme for Protection Business Development including client events, seminars, industry events, industry working groups, writing articles and other opportunities.
  • Lead and mentor junior members of the team.
  • Maintain a high level of knowledge of the industry and the issues it faces with a focus on how these impact the company and its clients.
  • Worked in the Life and Health re/insurance industry with experience in pricing protection products desirable.
  • A proven track record of delivering client-focused, value creating solutions and a good network within the industry.
  • An entrepreneurial mind-set with a positive and ambitious outlook.
  • Strategic and commercial acumen with a strong interest in identifying emerging trends
  • Excellent problem solving and communication skills, including senior stakeholder management.
