Asset Management
  • Prepare asset liability analysis for company clients, including understanding the characteristics and performance drivers of asset classes and strategies, asset mix alternatives, liabilities, risk appetite and tolerance
  • Working with the rest of the portfolio construction team, provide insight, advice and on-going reporting to clients, senior executive team, investment teams and board of directors.
  • Develop presentations
  • Assist with development of and periodic updates to company’s capital market assumptions.
  • Foster the culture and behaviours that supports intellectual curiosity, critical thinking, innovation, and high levels of collaboration.
  • Collaborate with company’s investment, risk, client service, and operations teams.
  • An actuarial designation (e.g. ASA, FSA, FCIA) combined with a relevant undergraduate is required.
  • A minimum of 5 years of hands on experience in valuation of pension plans or in a related role in a global financial institution or investment manager.
  • Knowledge of investing trends, financial markets and a strong ability in research, analysis, and data interpretation.
  • Understanding of asset liability modelling, stress testing, and investment landscape, especially as it relates to Canadian defined benefit and target benefit pension plans.
  • Role model work ethic, using the highest level of integrity under all conditions.
  • Ability to work in a complex and dynamic environment.
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to report complex information clearly and concisely.
