  • Support the immediate supervisor by helping with work organization, operational planning and special initiatives.
  • Develop, implement and track the unit’s action plan, ensuring alignment with the organization’s strategic orientations and other administrative units, in a performance management context.
  • Establish management and communication practices that support change management, talent attraction and retention, skills development, employee engagement, and diversity in keeping with company’s values.
  • Define and ensure the implementation of activities related to the unit’s services and ensure entrusted projects are carried through so as to maximize targeted business results and ensure member and client satisfaction.
  • Support the administrative unit’s action plan by successfully managing individual and team performance.

  • Define and update insurance coverage for all of Canada, by establishing the scope of various types of coverage, clearly identifying the underlying purpose for insurance, re-writing legal texts and ensuring an appropriate interpretation of coverage during claims.
  • Assess the risks associated with insureds’ behaviours and properties according to their characteristics or use, while keeping abreast of the latest trends.
  • Monitor the performance of insurance solutions according to the evolution of trends and market changes, in order to identify problems and make changes when appropriate.
  • Ensure the transfer of knowledge to operational teams nationwide and work together to identify and resolve problems, and establish practices that are aligned with our insurance concerns and purposes.
  • Actively contribute to solidifying national strategies and positions in terms of underwriting and monitor industry best practices.
  • Provide expert advice to our main internal partners and provide support for their project initiatives.
  • Provide leadership in developing consistent strategic priorities to be communicated to industry organizations where the company is represented in order exert influence and help position.
  • Help prioritize annual projects within the Actuarial Services, Analytics and Underwriting Division and oversee various sector/multidisciplinary projects, in addition to ensuring that underwriting is represented in corporate projects.
  • Support employees from the division in their continued skills development and encourage their participation in identifying and setting up the conditions for success and/or solutions allowing for objectives and desired results to be achieved.
  • Serve as team coach and emphasize personalized contact in relations with employees.
  • Bachelor's degree in actuarial, in administration or in a related field.
  • A minimum of nine years of relevant experience, including four years in management.
  • At least seven years of experience in insurance.
  • Knowledge of French is required.
  • Advanced oral proficiency in English and French.
