RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Clear, review, and enter new business, endorsements and, renewals for the underwriters within the established standards.
  • Assist underwriters in preparing and organizing data for entry into single risk pricing tools for rating purposes.
  • Review of the underwriter’s and peers system entries to ensure accuracy of the information. Discrepancies are to be brought to the appropriate parties attention for correction.
  • Issuance of various insurance documents including FAC certificates and insurance policies for underwriters to sign.
  • Review and clear incoming mail and emails in the single risk system for both new and existing business, match up with appropriate file/s and distribute accordingly within the established standards.
  • Correspond with clients for account information and follow up for missing information.
  • Provide status reports as required.
  • Submit billing and payment information to accounting unit for client invoicing, reconcile billing and payment discrepancies to support the accounting unit.
  • File policy correspondence on a daily basis into the Electronic Filing System.
  • Prepare renewals, produce letters and send emails to clients.
  • Assist company underwriters and leadership as required.
QUALIFICATIONS
  • Will demonstrate a natural desire to provide exceptional service through their energy, enthusiasm, and initiative.
  • Post-secondary education.
  • CIP designation or progression towards the designation is an asset.
  • Prior experience working in commercial underwriting.
  • Excellent working knowledge of Microsoft Office and other computer software.
  • Strong analytical and investigative competencies.
  • Good communication, organizational, and time management skills.
  • Demonstrate accuracy and an eye for attention to detail.
  • Solid grasp of commercial insurance products combined with good knowledge of the insurance industry.
  • Ability to work on a small team and build strong relationships with colleagues.
  • High degree of drive, self-motivation, continuing development and proven ability to work independently.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.
  • High degree of flexibility and adaptability to changing environment and situations.
  • French language skills are an asset.
