RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Prepare daily, monthly and quarterly reports tracking the performance of external portfolio managers.
  • Update the database used to monitor external portfolio managers and participate in different analyses to hire or monitor external portfolio managers.
  • Update and analyze various tools for understanding market conditions.
  • Participate in the optimization of the active fund management structure through performance attribution analyses and risk budgeting measures.
  • Prepare quarterly and annual reports to communicate the results of the pension asset management team to investment committee and pension committee members.
  • Monitor the evolution of the plans’ financial position.
  • Contribute to apply risk reduction and dynamic asset allocation strategies.
  • Monitor the investment options available in defined contribution pension plans in Canada and the United States.
  • Contribute to the production of quarterly and annual reports to monitor the assets and liabilities of the company's insurance captive.
  • Support the trader in executing money market and fixed income transactions for the internally managed portfolios as well as in executing derivatives transactions.
  • Participate in various special projects.
QUALIFICATIONS
  • You have a minimum of two years of investment experience.
  • You have a university degree in finance, actuarial science or equivalent.
  • You hold the CFA designation or aim to obtain it.
  • You have mastered Excel and have an excellent knowledge of the other MS Office applications.
  • You have some knowledge of the Bloomberg software.
  • You have an aptitude for and are interested in technical work and are at ease manipulating large amounts of data.
  • You are conscientious and detail-oriented.
  • You are comfortable working autonomously and taking initiatives.
  • You demonstrate team spirit and establish good relationships with your colleagues.
  • You have excellent spoken and written communications skills in both English and French.
