  • Analysis and interpretation of LBU financial performance, budgets and forecasts, and present this insight to senior stakeholders.
  • Support setting of IFRS OPBT targets for assigned Local Business Units.
  • Review of LBU Strategic and Financial Plans.
  • Review of LBU financial/non-financial information to support all round understanding of business performance.
  • Review external financial reporting submissions for LBUs for consolidation within the company financial reports.
  • Provide financial expertise to LBUs including support implementation of new accounting standards.
  • Support LBU to enhance & strengthen financial capabilities, including support on projects, products and other financial matters.
  • Review, assess and recommend for approval LBU key financial expenditure.
  • Ensure relevant and accurate financial & other management information are made available,
  • Manage submissions of monthly, quarterly, half-yearly data from business units.
  • Proactively review and analyze submitted business data.
  • Communicate with business units on identified issues, partner on appropriate courses of action and execute successfully.
  • Ensure regional definitions are consistently applied by business units.
  • Strong analytical skills with good attention to detail.
  • Proven interpersonal skills, able to communicate effectively with senior stakeholders across businesses and regional office.
  • At least 8+ years life insurance industry experience in finance/accounting/actuarial/business analyst environment.
  • Experience in a local business unit would be advantageous.
  • Strong understanding of financial reporting metrics such as IFRS accounting and external financial reporting.
  • Degree qualified and hold a professional accounting or actuarial qualification.
  • Good skills in Microsoft Excel, Word & PowerPoint.
  • Excellent written and spoken English; Asian language skills advantageous.
  • Some travelling in the Asia region may be required.
  • Business mindset: Ability to understand the link business actions and events to financial performance outcomes.
