RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Develop pricing models and support pricing, rate filing and rate review.
  • Frequent liaisons with the Actuarial Forecasting team.
  • Update tax liability model with the forecast cycle, including coordinating inputs from Finance, Tax, and Government programs.
  • Explaining rates and putting together deliverables for Member’s Edge, IT Rating Engine, and other systems.
  • Coordinating with Risk Adjustment team to understand impact on pricing.
  • Making presentations to internal clients, being able to explain actuarial concepts to non-actuarial audiences.
  • Experience studies, drill downs, scenario analysis.
  • Communicating with NJ DOBI, Federal government, and third party consultants.
  • Reading and summarizing federal and state regulations.
QUALIFICATIONS
  • Requires a Bachelor’s degree, preferably within Mathematics, Statistics, Actuarial Sciences or a related field from an accredited college or university.
  • Requires 2+ years of actuarial and/or statistics experience.
  • Several actuarial exams passed; ASA preferred.
  • Excellent knowledge of Excel.
  • Knowledge of a programming language is required, SAS or SQL is preferred.
  • Data analysis and Actuarial principles.
  • Very good verbal and written communication skills, including knowledge of PowerPoint.
  • Strong analytical thinking, mathematical skills and statistical analysis abilities.
  • Good judgment and problem solving skills.
  • Attention to detail.
