RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Assist in the overall execution of transactions including Mergers & Acquisitions, partnerships, Strategic Investments, etc.
  • Day-to-day transaction management and execution including the coordination of regional as well as country specific stakeholders; leading the overall financial modelling and analysis process, ensuring actuarial valuations are prepared with accuracy and with commercial preparation of transaction related presentations, review definitive documentations to provide a holistic view on potential opportunities.
  • Provide oversight and supervision on transactions to ensure seamless cooperation across all internal functions. Working closely with Asia and global leadership to identify optimal solutions based on our strategic needs, risk appetite and capital strength in a holistic manner.
  • Liaison between business units, regional function teams in order to execute tasks encompassing valuation, accounting and other technical issues with regard to transaction execution,
  • Provide training and guidance to junior members of the team.
  • Analyze and assess the financial and non-financial impact potential transactions may have for the country as well as the company globally and/in Asia.
  • Provide oversight and influence over financial projections and especially on actuarial modelling working with regional actuarial as well as country teams to ensure the commercial viability of propositions reflecting the same through sales projections thereby driving actuarial results and valuation.
  • Expect individual to be able to handle multiple transactions as well as handling liaison and debate regarding transaction structuring, finance & accounting issues, tax impact and assessment, potential legal & compliance issues, etc.
  • Provide guidance to team members in order to drive deliverables in an efficient and effective manner while providing training to facilitate their development.
  • Execution of potential transactions.
  • Ensuring transactions, especially Bancassurance to drive towards meeting deal metrics and returns.
QUALIFICATIONS
  • University degree with 8 to 10 years of experience in a similar role with a leading insurer or an investment bank with a focus on Mergers & Acquisitions, insurance experience preferred.
  • FSA qualified candidates preferred with experience in actuarial valuation.
  • Strategic mindset with strong analytical skills; ability to structure / execute / plan complex processes and transactions.
  • Effective verbal and written communication and presentation skills, self-starter, independent, logical but innovative thinker, ability to influence others, and strong interpersonal skills.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English, Mandarin and Cantonese.
