RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Working within a world-wide reserving team responsible for the updating, booking and reconciliation of quarterly reserve analysis indications for assigned areas.
  • Working with the Appointed Actuary to fulfil regulatory responsibilities such as the creation of the Appointed Actuary and Future Condition Test reports.
  • Supporting Finance in the development of Branch P&C-2 filings and financial statement disclosures.
  • Working to develop our corporate IFRS 17 capabilities.
  • Providing summary reports and management information.
  • Helping to prepare quarterly presentations to executive underwriting management and business unit leadership.
  • Completion of assumption review analyses that provide value added insights to the business unit.
  • Engaging with underwriting, pricing and claims teams to enhance the reserving feedback loop.
  • Helping to build dashboard capabilities to provide continuously improving analytics to our business units, finance, other reserving team members, and other interested internal customers.
  • Assisting with data management of company’s world-wide reserving platform.
  • Maintaining appropriate process documentation.
QUALIFICATIONS
  • 3 to 8 years working experience in non-life reserving or pricing in the reinsurance field, or related actuarial experience.
  • Person should have completed at least 5 actuarial exams although Associate to new Fellow members of the Casualty Actuarial Society are preferred.
  • Strong communication skills and proficiency English.
  • High motivation, team-orientation and adaptability.
  • Strong IT and data management skills.
  • Strong knowledge of Property & Casualty lines of business.
  • Strong knowledge of Canadian statutory requirements.
  • Strong ability to work remotely with team members and across departments across multiple time zones.
