RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Developing and using customized and standard actuarial models.
  • Reconciling and analyzing data.
  • Problem-solving using spreadsheets, databases, and other resources to produce client deliverables.
  • Developing client communications, including reports and other correspondence.
  • Presenting results to colleagues and clients.
  • Sitting actuarial exams.
QUALIFICATIONS
  • Bachelor’s degree in Mathematics, Actuarial Science, Computer Science or related field.
  • 2-5 years of relevant actuarial experience.
  • Passed 5 or more actuarial exams.
  • Strong technical skills and client service orientation.
  • Excellent Microsoft Office skills, particularly in Excel, plus a high level of general computer literacy and interest in learning new tools and applications.
  • Experience in managing data and automating complex data manipulation tasks.
  • Experience in programing is not required for this role but any of the following are a positive: SAS, R, SQL or other programming languages such as VBA.
  • Detail-oriented and good organization skills, with the ability to work independently.
  • Strong written/oral communication skills.
  • Ability to execute on multiple projects simultaneously and work well in a team environment.
  • Enthusiastic about job performance.
  • High energy level and intellectual curiosity.
  • Interest and ability to think beyond the task at hand and understand how one’s work fits into the broader landscape.
  • Predictive modeling experience.
  • Experience with Igloo, Emblem or Radar software.
  • Experience working with big data.
  • Ability to code and develop in scripting and object-oriented programming languages such as Python, Java, C#.
  • Exhibits willingness and ability to learn technical material quickly.
  • Builds strong working relationships with brokers and clients.
