RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Following modeling best practices to support predictive analytic findings for our insurance clients
  • Identifying, collecting, verifying and preparing data for use in modeling engagements
  • Utilizing variable selection techniques to prioritize variables for multivariate analysis
  • Developing optimal statistical models and methodologies that predict frequency/severity and forecast various business metrics
  • Designing and implementing metrics to monitor model expectations against experience to determine areas of model weakness
  • Recommending changes to client underwriting selection criteria, rating factors and other business operations-based on the output from the predictive models
  • Assisting in preparing documentation and written reports of findings for discussion and/or presentation to clients
QUALIFICATIONS
  • A Bachelor’s degree required and professional designations desired
  • Knowledge and understanding of statistical theory, including Generalized Linear Models
  • 3-5 years experience with demonstrating strong statistical skills in analyzing data using machine learning techniques
  • Excellent computer skills including advanced techniques and proficiencies in R and Python. Certifications a plus
  • Experience working with large data sets in AWS environment
  • Experience in property/casualty insurance industry a plus
  • Ability to work both independently and collaboratively with professionals from other disciplines who may be geographically dispersed
  • Ability to handle multiple concurrent tasks and function in a high-volume, deadline-oriented environment
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Strong communication (written and verbal) and presentation skills
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office products
