Regional Manager, Financial Accounting Projects

  • Provide support/guidance to both Life & Health and Property & Casualty Operating Entities for changes on existing accounting and reporting processes so as to be able to cope with the new IFRS reporting requirements.
  • Ensure successful implementation of IFRS 17 & 9 solutions for in-scope Operating Entities by facilitate resolution of issues or escalate to relevant working parties if necessary.
  • Work closely with other interdependent projects to ensure timely and cost efficient implementation of new accounting standards.
  • Support Asia Operating Entities to develop their local accounting policies for IFRS 9 & 17.
  • Regular monitor and report the project progress of Operating Entities to Project Lead, including schedule meetings/calls with Operating Entities and summarise key notes/action points etc.
  • Assist Regional Project Lead to prepare budget in the planning cycle.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance or Accounting or Actuarial or Project Management or Change Management.
  • At least 5+ years of working experience in dynamic insurance industry.
  • Qualified or nearly-qualified actuary or certified accountant.
  • Experience in insurance industry.
  • Strong understanding of actuarial, accounting and IT requirements from business perspective.
  • Self-motivated in learning IFRS 9 & 17.
  • Able to work independently and a good team player.
  • Good English communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Willing to travel within Asia.
  • Good understanding of IFRS 9 and IFRS 17 Standards or current IAS 39 and IFRS 4 Standards.
  • Experience in financial analysis and project management.
  • Proficiency in computer skills such as Microsoft Office suite, Visual Basic and PowerPoint.
  • Proven ability to multi-task and work under pressure.
  • Effective stakeholder management skills, with ability to communicate to a wide variety of levels.
