Insurance Organization
  • Verify quality and integrity of exposure data; prepare data to import to modeling software
  • Understand, document, and explain related data quality issues
  • On each project provide complete, clear documentation on assumptions, data edits, and analyses completed
  • Understand the differences in and run analyses in all catastrophe modeling software products licensed by the organization
  • Follow designated workflows and procedures and utilize templates and automated tools
  • Produce accurate, clear, professional and detailed results in file formats, reports, exhibits, presentations or maps as needed to present final results following the organization’s templates and formats
  • Perform other reporting or analysis as requested
  • Bachelor’s degree in mathematics, finance, economics or other related areas
  • Demonstrate advanced knowledge of business software such as MS Excel, Access and SQL, including knowledge of VBA scripting in MS Excel, and querying/report generating using Access and SQL scripts
  • Understand database structures, table relationships and views; ability to comfortably use SQL to produce data queries; ability to read and understand complex SQL code
  • Demonstrated problem analysis and solving skills including complex problems; ability to clearly articulate, document and communicate problem and resolution plans; demonstrated problem solving experience and proven ability to assess gaps in data
  • Strong analytical and critical thinking skills
  • Must be detailed oriented
  • Proven organization skills, ability to prioritize, handle multiple tasks, and work on multiple project work streams in parallel
  • Ability to work under tight timeframes
  • Experience working on projects that include multiple teams or lines of business
  • Desire and demonstrated ability to establish, build, and maintain team relationships
  • Experience effectively communicating with team members and clients
  • Self Starter, motivated to own and manage responsibilities
  • Experience with mapping software (ideally ESRI products) a plus
  • Occasional travel and overtime as needed
