  • Develop indications, base rates need and loss picks across both our automobile & property products.
  • Collaborate with the Personal Insurance team on deep dive profitability reviews on various cohorts of the portfolio and recommend corrective action plans.
  • Partner with Product Leadership on product strategy from ideation through development and launch.
  • Directs the work streams and has full management responsibility for the performance and development of subordinate actuarial/pricing and analytical staff in accordance with corporate strategic direction.
  • Interact closely with business partners to explain technical pricing indications and help derive the tactical execution of their business decisions.
  • Partner with the company Auto pricing lead to develop a cohesive approach to approach to strategic pricing from the ground up to establish value-based pricing strategies and guidance based on the collection & interpretation of market positioning, differentiation and value proposition aligned to product & business strategy
  • Seek out and leverage best in class pricing tools, methodologies and engage 3rd party partners - where appropriate - to inform the company’s pricing strategy and differentiation
  • Performs complex actuarial calculations and actuarial studies, and develops rates for existing and/or new business.
  • Produces highly technical reports and communicates with other analytical staff and management including presentations to senior management.
  • Stays up to date in functional area of expertise, on industry trends and developments, and assures knowledge transfer within organization.
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Mathematics, Statistics or related disciplines.
  • A minimum of 7 to 10 years of experience and at least 2 to 4 years of leadership experience.
  • Associate accreditation required; FCAS accreditation or working towards Fellowship preferred.
  • Strong general insurance industry knowledge and expertise in actuarial and statistical concepts.
  • Advanced product specific knowledge with a broad understanding of competitor trends & strategies.
  • Strong communication skills, the ability to lead and manage multiple projects in concert with often evolving prioritization.
  • The ability to work & lead their team independently with reasonable oversight.
  • Strong analytic, critical thinking and problem - solving skills, with the ability to partner to resolve complex issues in a timely manner.
  • Ability to work and lead with both a sense of urgency but display calmness.
  • Strong partnership skills with the ability to creatively approach and solve complex problems
  • Candidate should have experience in utilizing the required tools and solid knowledge of the Microsoft Office Suite.
