  • Conduct market research and monitor competition to generate insights that can guide the product roadmap and future opportunities within data strategy.
  • Manage data experimentation & vendor POC pipeline, establishing a framework and success criteria for evaluating and recommending relevant vendor products and technologies; ensure experiments provide applicable value & commercially tangible results that are highly relevant & are demo-ready for our stakeholders.
  • Evangelize/market/socialize new and emerging technology by providing hands-on training, practical how-to-consulting & thought leadership to our internal clients, making data and technology relevant to both their daily work and long-term business goals.
  • Understand the key value drivers for product areas and demonstrate progress against success metrics to ensure products are delivering value as expected.
  • Contribute to a variety of data strategy initiatives such as data acquisition processes, data sharing technologies, monitoring applications, entity resolution solutions and the construction of internal knowledge graphs.
  • Oversee team sprints to ensure efficiency of processes and product development.
  • Lead and participate in full product life cycles, manage blockers, dependencies, and risk factors between engineers, data scientists and analysts, and communicate overall product vision, progress, and changes in performance metrics.
  • Create internal documentation, supporting processes, and presentations around product specifications and capabilities.
  • 5+ years of professional work experience.
  • 2+ years of experience in a product management role, preferably at a data company.
  • Bachelor’s degree preferably in a quantitative discipline such as computer science, engineering, mathematics or physics.
  • Strong understanding of modern data trends & principles and the accompanying technology tooling ecosystem & vendor landscape.
  • Experience and enthusiasm working with data in a variety of manners spanning proficiencies in Excel, SQL, API requests and basic scripting in Python or Familiarity with agile development principles; comfort collaborating & partnering with Data Engineers, Data Scientists, Data Business Analysts.
  • Composure presenting in front of executives and other key stakeholders; understanding of different learning approaches and ability to tailor teaching strategies to different audiences.
  • Possession of leadership skills, client-facing experience and the ability to influence internal & external stakeholders.
  • Experience with documentation management and maintenance.
  • Preferred:
  • Experience with cloud technologies such as AWS / Google Cloud / Microsoft Azure.
  • Familiarity with Spark concepts such as SparkSQL, dataframes, RDDs and cluster management.
  • Knowledge of data science platforms and other tools such as Databricks, DataRobot, and Tableau.
